A workshop on OSPE OSCE was conducted by the University Centre for Health Professions Education, SDUAHER on 7 November 2023. The highlights of the event are as follows. Dr. T N Suresh highlighted the importance of formative and summative evaluation methods, emphasising fairness, reliability, and relevance in assessments. Dr. Rashmi discussed structured assessments like practical exams and OSCEs, stressing their role in identifying strengths and areas for improvement. Dr. Geetha and Dr. Anitha focused on OSPE, guiding attendees in structuring assessments and assessing various skills. Dr. Sudha Reddy emphasised blueprints' pivotal role in OSPE and OSCE, prioritising structured essay questions.
Post-lunch, participants engaged in hands-on group activities, preparing assigned tasks and critiquing each other's stations. Constructive feedback focused on question and checklist formulation, fostering collaborative learning and skill development in assessment design. The iterative process showcased a dynamic exchange of ideas, enhancing the overall learning experience for educators.
